"Chocolate"
"Chocolate" was certainly an interesting movie. I really didn't care for it. It was poorly put together and I'm not one for action and what not. "Hair" seemed to be a common theme throughout the movie. When the mother lost her hair, her daughter became frightened and cut her hair. I think that both her hair and her mothers hair symbolized a security blanket. Like I said before I didn't really like the movie and it didn't make much sense to me.
I agree with you on the fact that the whole hair part was very interesting. I really did not think much about that until after you said that. It was a good observation that many people probably over looked. One thing is when people have disablities they tend to see things different. For example the hair was a symbol of something to the girl. It connected the mother and daughter in some sort of way
ReplyDeleteI also agree with the whole hair thing. When the mother began to lose her hair it freaked out her daughter. The freak out caused her daughter to cut off a good amount of her own hair. Maybe the daughter felt that she needed to be like her mother and lose her hair also.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, how was the movie poorly put together. The stunts were put together effectively, there was a beggining, middle, and end to the movie, and nothing went out of order. Sure there were major plot holes, but what movies do not have plot holes. It leaves for your mind to create a wonderful image of what could be. Where is the fun in something telling you everything. Mystery is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Beans. For a work to be artistic, or literary, I think we need to get lost in it. We can find our way in or ways to feel for it, by being able to identify with characters or through the work of great actors, but the classic "hollywood ending" is just a cheap trick to get money out of people so they can "get" the whole point while still making out in the back of the theater--like the batman movies, imo.
ReplyDeleteI would have to agree with you. It was hard for me to follow the movie, not to mention I missed the end. But I do think that the hair thing was like a security blanket for her, especially when dealing with her mother.
ReplyDeleteI agree and disagree with your blog and comment. The hair situation was definetly a secerety thing. and when it was lost the girl freaked of course just like any child who loses their secerety blanket. But the fasct on how the movie was made poorly. Yeah there was a beggining a middle and end but but most movies arent laid out like this one. There wqasnt just a cupple holes there were alot. The movie miught have been fairly put together but the holes in the movie made you lose train of thought on what the hell was going on. I still dont understand what happened between the ganster and zens mom and why did her and her husband lose contact. And why did all those people owe her money. So to me it was poorly put together in that aspect not because the begg mid and end.
