Teen Obesity

http://www1.whdh.com/features/articles/healthcast/BO74713/
Sounds too good to be true. All you need to do is eat breakfast and it will keep your weight down. Maybe not that simple, but it does make sense that you need to get your metabolism going in the morning by eating breakfast. The one girl in the article named Julie sure had the wrong idea when she said that she eats enough during the day to make up for the breakfast that she misses. Anyone with any common sense would know that you can't make up meals that you've missed and maintain a healthy weight. How does the saying go? Garbage in, garbage out?
It's getting more and more difficult to maintain a healthy weight. People's lives are so busy now-a-days. Restaurants are making it very easy to overeat with the huge portions that they serve. This, combined with the fact that Americans have become more sedentary, is a recipe for disaster. It starts at home with the parents. We need to teach our kids the right things to eat and also that exercise is a necessity. I know that I, for one, am guilty of not serving the best meals to my kids, but am looking forward to this summer when we can get outside and get excercise.

Teen obesity is a growing concern in the nation today.Poor eating habits are a big part of the problem, but so are all the food additives they are putting in our food that can be causing the problem also. There is evidence linking the food additives to obesity as well. They are now finding out that high fructose corn syrup is linked to obesity and puts you at risk for diabetes.

Teen obesity has definatley opened our eyes in the last few years! You are right, breakfast is supposed to be the healthiest meal for everyone and I myslef am very guilty for not doing just that. Also I feel that there is more inside electronic games for the children to do which is takeing time away from outside exercise.

I agree that teen obesity is a big problem. some reasons why i feel this is true are that todays kids spend way to much time on the computer and phone. my daugters life consist of nothing but those 2 things.

I also agree on this, nmy two older daughter are on the heavy side and I contribute it to the the lack excercise, the fast pace life that we live and also the computer and tv. I blame myself the most of all. I am the parent and I need to say get off of the computer and get go for a walk.

Teen obesity is a rising problem in the US today. Teens are unaware of the health issues and problems that come along with being overweight. Although breakfast is a meal that needs to be eaten, it's more of the portions of food you eat during the day and what foods you choose to eat throughout the day. As a person who is intrested in good eating habits, I've found that for teens and people in general a good diet consist of eating more often but with restrictions. A person should have there three main meals a day and a snack between each one. Studies have shown that its good approximately every 3 and half hours. Granted eating every three and a half hours also means choosing the right foods. Teens dont understand that you dont have to give up the good foods you like to lose weight. EXCERCISE. Walking is excersising.

Teen obesity is a growing concern in todays society. One reason is our busy lifestyles.Fastfood is just that, fast. It is alot easier to grab a bag of chips or candy bar and a soda than a healthy snack.Another reason is that unhealthy food is alot less expensive that healthy food.
